A coffee company that thinks like a blockchain.
We started with a simple conviction: great coffee should be as transparent as it is delicious. Every lot we roast is traceable to the farm, and every bag carries the proof.
Radical transparency

From the source
Direct trade, every lot
Two obsessions, one roastery.
We founded The Crypto Coffee Company in San Francisco in 2021 — a handful of people who couldn't stop talking about two things: where the best coffee actually comes from, and why open, verifiable systems make everything they touch more trustworthy. One of us cupped on weekends; another spent the week building ledgers that anyone could audit. The overlap was impossible to ignore.
What frustrated us was the same thing in both worlds: opacity. Too much specialty coffee is sold on a romantic photo and a vague country name, with no way to know what the grower was actually paid or when the beans were roasted. We wanted the opposite — a supply chain you could inspect line by line, the way you'd inspect a public ledger.
So we built the roastery around a single principle we call proof of roast: every coffee carries an immutable record of its origin, producer, process, and roast date. No hand-waving, no marketing fog. Just verifiable craft, from the farm to the bag in your hands — and a cup good enough to make the transparency feel almost beside the point.
Transparency that reaches all the way back to the soil.
Verifiable sourcing only matters if it's good for the people and the planet behind the cup. These are the commitments we hold ourselves to on every lot.
Direct & Transparent
We trace every lot to its farm and pay above Fair Trade — sourcing you can verify, not just trust.
Roasted to Order
Nothing sits in a warehouse. We roast in small batches and ship within 48 hours of the burner.
Freshness Guaranteed
A roast date on every bag. Love it within 30 days or we'll make it right — no questions.
Carbon-Neutral Delivery
Compostable bags and offset shipping on every order. Great coffee shouldn't cost the planet.
In practice, that means fully compostable bags instead of foil that lingers for centuries, carbon-neutral shipping offset on every order we send, and above-market farmgate prices paid directly to growers — published, not promised. Good coffee shouldn't cost the planet, and a fair price shouldn't be a secret.
Small batches, profiled lot by lot.
Everything ships from our roastery in San Francisco, where we work in batches small enough to taste through every single one. No coffee gets a generic curve. Each lot earns its own roast profile — developed on the cupping table, dialed in on the drum, and locked only once it tastes the way that particular harvest deserves to.
We roast to order rather than to a forecast, so nothing languishes in a warehouse waiting for a buyer. The roast date goes on the bag the same day the beans cool, and most orders leave within 48 hours of the burner — peak-freshness coffee, mined fresh and shipped while it's still at its best.
